On Being Known
I will be known for who I am in the Lord, make no mistake says the Lord when He has used you someone has to know about it. It’ll tumble out of you if need be, before even you've had a chance to process or ruin the Word. He’ll have you to see the eyes on you, which might make you uncomfortable, but should also remind us of His everlasting love found in His ability to watch the world and the grace that means we can watch through His eyes and not our own which makes life much less fatiguing.
I'm also grateful that I get to engage in and listen to conversations that then convict me toward better ways of life. In church school we talk about how many people don't complain about their commutes, I realize that many people do complain about their commutes, or make my commute sound long. These are sometimes the same people who think praise and worship feels long, also overlapping with people who commute long distances for work projects. What about what sounds long? What about some hours that feel like days and days that feel like hours?
In the Lord's ability to slow and speed up anything at His will, I understand that sometimes time is not how it seems. That I could be on the train for a long time, fall asleep, get restless, and then when I get home realize I had only been in commute for 20 minutes. I rarely am really late, in the sense that God’s timing is not our own, although we do set timers and times and agendas, outside of the possibility of plans we can see there are also lots and lots of other plans that fall within possible possibilities and one of those is the One, the path that God knows is best, the path He hopes leads us to salvation and the knowing of His love.
